South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club based in Spalding is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Coach to lead our club. The ideal candidate will have a passion for swimming, a strong background in coaching, and a commitment to helping our swimmers achieve their full potential. They would be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality training programs and fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all participants. Ideally, the candidate would be a Level 3- qualified coach or hold the Swim England Senior Swimming Coach Certificate, but the club would also welcome applications from an experienced Level 2-qualified coach/holder of the Swimming Coach Certificate, looking to take the next step in their coaching career.
We are a friendly club with over 140 swimmers from learn to swim through to county, regional and national level swimmers including para swimmers. The Head Coach will be supported by a team of active volunteer coaches and officials. The club is also fortunate to be having a new swimming pool built next year, providing a fantastic opportunity to develop the club.
Our current Head Coach is leaving for an exciting opportunity elsewhere in swimming and, in the last 6 years, has developed our current programme delivering growing success at County, Regional and National finals. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced coach to lead the programme and inspire the current group of swimmers.
The ideal candidate should:
- Be passionate and enthusiastic about swimming, punctual, energetic and have the ability to adapt and be flexible.
- Have experience and knowledge of developing swimmers to national level.
- Work well alongside others and be able to communicate well with both swimmers and parents.
- Demonstrate excellent leadership skills and the aptitude to inspire others.
- Show an interest in professional development and a willingness to expand knowledge.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading the training programme for all competitive squads.
- Delivering training sessions across all squads in pool and land-based.
- Mentor and manage the volunteer coaches holding regular coaches meetings to develop their skills and knowledge and produce monthly coaching schedules and monitor swimmers' progress.
- Prepare an annual competition calendar for all training squads and lead coaches and team managers at all swim meets.
- Work closely with the committee to ensure a high degree of communication across the club.
The Role:
- This is a full-time position with approximately 24 hours poolside coaching and 13 hours for administration and competitions.
- A competitive salary is available depending on experience.
- Interviews are scheduled to take place as soon as possible with a view to the candidate being in post by the start of the new season in September
