In order to support The University of Strathclyde’s water polo teams to compete at the highest level in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) competitions, the University supports these FOCUSports teams as part of the Performance programme.

University of Strathclyde Water Polo Scholarships
Our water polo teams are led by a dedicated international experienced Director of Sport and athletes have access to Physiotherapy support. In addition, all athletes on FOCUSport programmes benefit from access to specialist Strength and Conditioning, Sport Psychology and Performance Lifestyle services, enhanced access to world class training facilities, and flexible academic study options.
There is additional financial assistance to support training, travel, and competition costs. Performance Sport Scholars are provided with a comprehensive support package equating to a cash equivalent of up to £8,500 per year.
Sports Facilities at the Strathclyde, Glasgow
The University of Strathclyde houses a 2.0m depth 25m six lane pool with FINA-approved floating water polo goals. Swimming pool key features include a partial hydraulic floating floor to allow depth alteration for a variety of water polo activities. There is also a sauna and steam room.
The facility also houses a fitness suite with a World-Class Strength and Conditioning facility for development of players’ athletic ability and meeting rooms for hosting of video analysis sessions.
