University of Sussex Water Polo Scholarships
Athletes who have competed at national level or above are eligible to apply for a University of Sussex Water Polo Scholarship.
There are three levels of support available through the University of Sussex scholarship scheme.
The top tier of support is for athletes who currently represent their country at senior level in a British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) recognised sport. While water polo is a BUCS sport, the University of Sussex does not currently have an active men’s or women’s team.
The second tier of funding is for athletes who currently represent their country at junior level or are a member of a national level development squad while the third tier of funding is for athletes who have represented their county at senior level or are a member of a national league team.
Support packages available with a University of Sussex Water Polo Scholarship may include strength and conditioning sessions, mentoring, access to physiotherapy, branded kit and fitness testing.
In some cases, athletes may be granted academic flexibility, while there is also a financial bursary available of up to £1,000.
