This is a PWTAG Approved Pool Plant Operator course. It covers everything you need to effectively maintain a swimming pool. You will learn about circulation, filtration, disinfection, pH correction and heating of pool water. You will also learn how to maintain water which is safe and pleasant to swim in, how to correctly test pool water and understand how to restore it to ideal conditions. This certificate is valid for three years, and you will need to revalidate at this point.

Who is the course designed for?

The course is aimed at anyone involved in and responsible for the day to day operation of pool plant. This includes local authority employees, schools and private pool owners.

Prerequisites

You must be at least 18 years of age. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.

Training format

There are different ways to complete your PWTAG Approved Pool Plant Operator Certificate:

1. Face to Face

This will be delivered at a venue with a tutor at the site. The course theory takes place in a seminar room, you will then go to the pool plant room for your practical water testing. You will then complete a written multiple choice test and work based assignment.

2. Online and Virtual

This course allows you to make the most of learning online and will cover the course theory through interactive e-learning and live zoom webinars. E-learning allows you to work through the content at your own pace while the zoom webinars will be with the rest of your course cohort and from the comfort of your own home. You will then complete a written multiple choice test and work based assignment.

Certification

The National Pool Plant Operators Certificate is digital and can be accessed through your RLSS Tahdah account. This is awarded by RLSS UK Qualifications.
