Delivery requirements for the Swim England Aquatic Skills Framework
31 July 2018This page outlines the key requirements for delivering the Swim England Aquatic Skills Framework for Stages 8-10 in swimming, diving, artistic swimming and water polo at your facility.
This framework not only provides a fun and exciting introduction to the different sports (or a favourite), but can retain and motivate swimmers to try a new activity in your pool and can help them to develop new skills.
Swimming
The table below outlines basic requirements for running Swim England Aquatic Skills Stages 8-10 programmes for swimming in your facility.

| Teacher Qualifications | Recommended Swim England Level 2 Teaching Swimming (or equivalent) with Stages 8-10 Swimming CPD or Swim England Swimming Coach. Minimum Standard Swim England Level 2 Teaching Swimming. |
| Recommended Class Size | Maximum 12 per teacher. |
| Recommended Age | Eight years + |
| Learner Requirements | Must have completed Learn to Swim Stage 7 to Swim England Expected Standards. |

Artistic Swimming

Diving

Water Polo

| Pool Requirements | Minimum 1.2 metres depth with two opposite pool sides to set up mini goals. For Stages 8 and 9, goals are not required. |

Minimum Standard Swim England Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) with Stages 8-10 Water Polo CPD or Swim England Water Polo Assistant (Coaching).
