Thousands learn new skills on Swim England Qualification courses in 2019
16 January 2020Thousands of swimming teachers and assistants picked up new skills in 2019 as Swim England Qualifications (SEQ) staged more than 1,000 courses nationwide.
In total, more than 10,000 learners gained qualifications during a ‘fantastic’ year for the industry.
Swim England qualifications are delivered at more than 320 locations by a network of Approved Training Centres, providing an unrivalled coverage of England and Wales.
Simon Stevens, Head of Swim England Qualifications, said: “What a fantastic 2019 it was for the swim teaching industry, with so many courses available.
“Providing those opportunities at convenient locations has helped thousands of swimming teachers and assistants to gain qualifications, change their careers and progress.
“Thank you to our network of high-quality Approved Training Centres. They deserve a huge pat on the back for delivering so many high quality and enjoyable courses.”
Many of the learners started their aquatics journey with the SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification.
Taking the plunge with this practical, entry level course provides the skills required to assist a qualified swimming teacher.
It also serves as the perfect stepping stone to becoming a qualified swim teacher through the SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming course.
Quality is at the heart of all Swim England qualifications and the Level 2 is endorsed by the CIMSPA Swimming Teacher Standard, while learners benefit from the support, expertise and standing of the sport’s National Governing Body.
Launched last year, the Level 2 Teaching Swimming to Babies & Toddlers and Level 2 Coaching Open Water Swimming qualifications have also proved to be popular additions.
