Swim England and AquaPhysical bid to get more people active in the pool
4 September 2019Swim England is looking to get more people active and enjoying the water by working with the providers of an innovative and inclusive pool workout.
Award-winning fitness company AquaPhysical pioneer FloatFit, which is a full 30-minute group fitness class on water.
More than 1,500 certified FloatFit Instructors worldwide teach a mixture of high intensity and yoga inspired moves aimed at anyone from the age of eight upwards.
Around 2,000 people a week attend FloatFit classes in the UK and the relationship with Swim England aims to increase the number of people getting active in swimming pools in ‘new and exciting ways’.
AquaPhysical currently has three FloatFit programmes:
- FloatFit Hiit is a high-intensity interval training session
- FloatFit Balance is inspired by Yoga and Pilates
- And FloatFit Grow is fun and fitness for youngsters.
Tom Whelan, from AquaPhysical, said: “We are delighted to be working with Swim England to help increase pool participation through our inclusive and innovative workouts – adding a new element to keeping fit.
“Our FloatFit programmes have been developed by expert master trainers and are challenging, low impact and effective 30 minute workouts suitable for all ages and abilities.

Different ways to get active in water
While Swim England’s vision is a nation swimming, more and more people are finding different ways to enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of being active in water.
And Damian Stevenson, Swim England Insight and Partnerships Director, said he was looking forward to seeing the relationship with AquaPhysical flourish.
