Introduction to our Club
As the leading Club programme with Swim England Performance Centre status and located in the South of England, we are reigning County Champions, and Southeast Regional Champions and regularly feature in the top five programmes at the National Arena League Cup Final.
Wycombe is an exciting, evolving and dynamic club offering a wide programme using a “one team” approach. The club is a registered limited company and charity with a diverse offering in the community from performance swimming and masters’ swimmers through to participation squads and an emerging Water Polo squad.
Since 2012 the club has more than tripled in size resulting in around 650 active swimming members. At the start of 2016 WDSC moved to the then new 8 x 50m pool in Wycombe. The club continues to grow working closely with the local community and local learn to swim programmes.
We are looking for a coach who wants to add value to our programme, whilst being prepared to learn and develop, within our team environment.
The Candidate
You should be established as a Junior coach who has a passion for the development of Age Group Swimming and seeing swimmers progress to higher levels. As the Lead Junior Competitive Coach, you will have aspirations to be a leader and to develop your skills to lead other coaches in the programme. You must be a serious team player and clearly show your love of coaching swimming, driven and knowledgeable, whilst possessing the ability to communicate with swimmers, coaches and parents to a great level.
You will need to have sound knowledge of Long-Term Athlete Development and Aquatics GB’s optimal athlete development framework (OADF). Additionally, you should be able to actively demonstrate the willingness to learn and further develop from other coaches in the club and through opportunities external to the club. You should be knowledgeable in competitive swimming and be driven to achieve results for swimmers of all abilities with a particular focus on increasing the skills and techniques of the club’s Age Group and Youth Swimmers, enabling more swimmers to reach their full potential in the programme.
Additionally, the successful coach must have a passion for competitions in general, so must be prepared to attend various galas and meets to support our swimmers in their racing and team objectives.
