The City of Coventry Swimming Club (COCSC) is looking for Part-time Squad Coaches to join our thriving team. We have several hours per week available, depending on what is required and Coaches will be working across all age groups, including Masters. This role will be based at sites around Coventry.
COCSC is a charity that operates in providing swimming provision to all. from Learn to Swim to Competitive Swimming for all ages. This role would be employed by the City of Coventry Swimming Club. We are a SwimMark-accredited club and operate a Learn to Swim programme and a full structure of competitive squads.
Overview:
We are seeking a number of passionate and dedicated Swim Coaches to join our team. As a Swim Coach, you will play a vital role in coaching individuals of all ages the skills necessary to become confident club, county, regional and national swimmers.
To include morning, evening and weekend sessions plus the flexibility to cover other sessions. Attendance at competitions as required by the Assistant Head of Aquatics.

Duties:
- Provide swimmers with coaching within our sessions and where required at galas.
- Provide constructive feedback to swimmers to help them improve their swimming skills.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment for all swimmers.
- Complete registers and relevant admin duties for the squads coached.
- Communicate with parents via email and face-to-face where needed. 1-2 seasonal parent meetings to also be led or attended as required.
- Coordinate pre- and post-pool sessions where appropriate
Qualifications:
- Swim England Assistant Swimming Coach, Swimming Coach or Senior Swimming Coach Certificate (ASA Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 Coaching Award) or equivalent
- Previous experience in coaching is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively coach and motivate swimmers.
- Lifeguard certification or NRASTC certification ideal - or can be gained within the role.
- Ability to work well with individuals of all ages and skill levels.

Experience:
- Swim Coaching: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Swim England Senior Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 3 Swimming Coaching award or equivalent
- Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 2 Swimming Coaching Award or equivalent
- Swim England Assistant Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 1 Swimming Coaching Award or equivalent
Please note we will consider those who hold an Assistant Swimming Coach Certificate should they have plans to undertake the Swimming Coach Certificate.
