Join the Swim England Online Community and help make a difference
16 May 2024Swim England’s members are being encouraged to ‘join the conversation’ and be at the heart of the national governing body’s decision-making.
The new member-driven Swim England Online Community will give hundreds the chance to have their say and help shape future opportunities and experiences.
It is open to all members aged 16 and over from every aquatic discipline.
They will be required to complete between one and five activities a month, ranging from live chats and discussions, creating videos, completing diaries, polls and surveys or tasks highlighting their online user journey.
A total of 500 active Swim England members will be initially selected for the community, which will always be open for recruitment.
Every three months, the membership of the community will be refreshed to give as many people as possible the opportunity to be involved.
Andy Salmon, Swim England chief executive, said: “The online community is a more user-friendly way of letting members have their say – and, importantly, for us to listen to them.
“The Listening Report highlighted members’ concerns that they didn’t always have a voice – and continued listening was one of the recommendations of the report.
Exciting ideas
“As a result, this online community has been created to give members a platform to join the conversation and be involved in our decision-making process.
“By helping us understand what is important to you as a member, we can improve as an organisation.
“As well as dedicated research activities that will affect our current projects, there will be opportunities for members to raise topics that are important to them.
“Everyone involved will have a key role to play as your feedback will help shape the great opportunities and experiences of the future for the entire aquatics community.
“We will ensure that we are presenting back to the community so they can see the impact and difference that their time and insight is having at Swim England.
“I’d encourage anyone who is keen to make a difference to sign up – we’re looking forward to hearing all your views, opinions and exciting ideas.”
Parents with children aged under 16 who are Swim England members can also join as there may be opportunities to complete some activities together.
