Swim England launch Club Financial Forum to support sustainability of aquatic clubs
25 January 2024Swim England have announced the launch of a brand new financial forum, aimed at supporting the success and sustainability of aquatic clubs.
The newly introduced forum will serve as a platform where members can openly engage in discussions around club financial matters and will address queries from across the aquatics community.
The forums come as a follow up to the success of Swim England’s Club Financial Toolkit and last year’s Financial Sustainability webinars as the national governing body continue their commitment to provide valuable resources and support for clubs as they navigate the financial landscape.
Sessions will be held three times per year on zoom with the first ever forum set to take place at 7:30pm on Tuesday 27 February.
Anyone who holds a role within a club, county or region can sign up to attend, however the sessions are specifically targeted at those in financial positions such as treasurers and fundraising officers.
You can sign up for the first ever Swim England Financial Forum here.
Empowering members with the tools they need
As part of each session, Swim England have collaborated with relevant partners who will share a short presentation during the forum.
Joining the first forum will be representatives from Crowdfunder UK and GoCardless who will use their expertise to show clubs how they can enhance their financial stability.
Expressing enthusiasm on the launch of the financial forum, Swim England Club and Operation manager Andy Jack said: “Following on from the Club Financial Toolkit and financial sustainability webinars we’re excited to continue to provide resources to support clubs in these economically-challenging times.
“Managing a clubs finances can be lot to take on for staff and volunteers so we’re looking forward to the forums where we can provide advice that can strengthen a clubs financial position.
“We want to use these discussions to empower our members with all the knowledge and tools they need for financial success so that we can work towards a sustainable future for aquatic sports.”
The deadline to sign up for the forum is at 12 noon on Monday 26 February, with information on the remaining forums in 2024 to be released later this year.
