History of the Henry Dixon Trophy

Henry Dixon was president of the ASA in 1960.

He was batman (officer’s personal servant) to Lawrence of Arabia, who gave him an elephant’s tusk which he later had made into a gavel.

This gavel can be seen on display on the 4th Floor of SportPark, however, due to its delicacy, it is no longer used at ASA Council meetings.

Henry Dixon was also president of the ASA North East Region in 1928 and again in 1962.
