200m IM Trophies
January 1, 2019There are four 200m IM trophies, awarded to the fastest senior and junior (U16) swimmers in the 200m Individual Medley at the Swim England National Championships.

The Gregory Matveieff Memorial Trophy is awarded to the fastest male senior swimmer in the 200m Individual Medley at the National Winter Championships (25m).
While the Winter Championships are traditionally a short course event, they were held in the long course 50m pool in 2017.
Matveieff was the president of the Southern Counties in 1956 and went on to become the ASA President in 1964.

History of the Ken Martin Trophy
Ken Martin was a keen swimmer from Nottingham who went on to become ASA Midland Treasurer from 1935 to 1954 and then the Midland Secretary from 1955 to 1959.
He became president of the ASA in 1957 and was awarded an MBE for services to swimming.
Martin is also known for being the author of the Ken Martin Report, which set about modernising our sport following the Second World War. Copies of this reports (swimming, water polo, synchronised swimming and diving) can be found in the ASA Library.
